Communicates store targets to the team and drives sales to achieve financial objectives
Maintains proper loss prevention standards and ensures compliance with cash handling, fraud and theft of products
Oversees and monitors all point of sales activities in the store which includes - sales transactions, tracking customer orders and payments, registering sale and maintaining inventory updates, providing service, handling returns and refunds, gathering consumer data for feedback, etc.
Oversees cash transaction entry and management (petty cash, point of sales (POS) cash elements, change floats)
Regularly audits own store administration and resolves any issues; assists in carrying out annual stock counts and spot checks
Monitors and handles customer complaints and takes corrective action in line with policy; resolves customer complaints and responds to feedback in a timely and professional manner
Tracks and evaluates brand sales performance, researches market trends and competitor trading activities to identify critical business factors and propose action plans to increase sales and profitability
Monitors and analyzes sales reports and provides insights to maximize stock potential; reports on the performance of new and core collections
Maintains window and in-store displays to a high standard in line with merchandising guidelines
Oversees and monitors the inventory management in the store (stock availability, order management, back store management, stock movement within store)
Ensures accurate stock merchandise and management (stock ageing, stock loss, space management) within the store
Coordinates with facilities department on repairs or replacements of furniture or equipment; supports company maintenance standards/programs to optimize asset life
Maintains staffing levels consistent with operational needs to ensure exceptional customer service; prepares schedules and ensures adequate shift coverage
Ensures seasonal peaks and important promotional events are taken into account when preparing forecasts and staff rosters
Ensures that the team is adequately trained in inventory management techniques such as in-bound movement of goods, receiving, stocking, restocking, transfers and managing inventory discrepancies
People Management:
Defines goals and key performance indicators for each member of the team and ensures effective implementation of the GMG’s performance management process
Develops talent within the team by providing guidance, mentoring and coaching to achieve the defined goals. Drives a culture of feedback and coaching in the Business Unit / Department by providing feedback on an ongoing basis, identifying development needs and coaching the employees on areas of improvement

Team Management and Leadership
Staff Supervision: Assist in managing the store team, including supervising daily tasks, ensuring that all staff are following store procedures, and providing direction.
Training and Development: Help with the recruitment, training, and development of new employees, ensuring that staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed.
Motivating the Team: Provide leadership by motivating and encouraging staff to meet individual and team targets. Lead by example in terms of work ethic and customer service.
Shift Management: Oversee staff scheduling, ensuring that the store is adequately staffed during peak hours and that shifts are fairly allocated.
2. Customer Service and Experience
Customer Interaction: Act as a point of contact for customer queries and concerns, handling escalated issues and ensuring that customer service standards are met.
Maintaining Store Standards: Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing to customers. This includes maintaining store displays and ensuring that the environment is safe and welcoming.
Customer Satisfaction: Monitor customer satisfaction levels, using feedback and insights to improve service offerings and address any customer complaints.
3. Sales and Performance Management
Sales Targets: Assist in setting sales targets for the store and support the team in achieving them. This may include motivating staff during promotional periods or special events.
Performance Analysis: Help analyze store sales data, identify trends, and develop strategies to improve sales performance and profitability.
Promotions and Marketing: Work with the store manager to plan and execute in-store promotions, marketing campaigns, or seasonal displays to drive foot traffic and increase sales.
4. Inventory and Stock Control
Stock Management: Assist in managing stock levels, ensuring that products are ordered and replenished on time to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
Inventory Audits: Participate in regular stocktaking and inventory audits to ensure that stock records are accurate and that loss prevention protocols are followed.
Product Display: Oversee the correct placement and arrangement of products on the sales floor to encourage purchases and align with the store’s visual merchandising standards.
5. Health and Safety Compliance
Safety Standards: Ensure the store complies with health and safety regulations, including fire safety and emergency procedures. Ensure staff are aware of and adhere to these standards.
Security: Help implement security measures to protect store assets, including managing CCTV systems, securing stock, and ensuring all store entrances are monitored for safety.
6. Administrative Support
Reporting: Assist with preparing sales reports, payroll records, and other administrative duties required by the store manager or regional management team.
Budgeting: Help monitor store expenses and ensure the store operates within budgetary guidelines, minimizing waste and inefficiency.
