Job description

The MEA Human Resources Manager is responsible for attracting, motivating and retaining a high-performing multi-cultural workforce. This HR Manager position is accountable for effective management and execution of local employment practices, recruiting, compensation and benefits, payroll, and maintaining a positive employee relations environment across the MEA region. The position works with multiple stakeholders including Business Unit HR Leaders and Presidents outside of the region, and is responsible for implementing business unit Intellectual Capital (IC) strategies within the MEA region in partnership with the Regional President and local leaders.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively drive the hiring selection process within region which includes sourcing, screening and interviewing to develop a robust candidate slate which results in high quality hires that are A Players in Crane. Drive pipeline development and recruitment activities in partnership with business units, with limited to no external recruitment resources.
  • Responsible for co-ordination of all contracts and work permits/visas to ensure that the region remains fully compliant with all legal requirements related to employing a workforce including ex-pats.
  • Drive intellectual capital assessment and development process which results in succession development, retention, and organizational performance. This includes execution of campus recruitment strategy to enable identification and development of future leaders. (Ongoing maintenance of MEA IC tool and preparation of more detailed IC decks for corporate reviews liaising with Business Units to align as required).
  • Ensure proper administration of benefits information, including insurance renewals, in support of Crane Company initiatives. This includes processing payroll and all other benefits i.e. allowances/merit awards/bonuses/flights home for associates/expenses. Is also responsible for negotiating with insurance companies for best rate on medical coverage and other benefits.
  • Identify and recommend learning and development interventions – challenging managers on the creation of robust IC summaries/development actions and holding them to account to deliver on commitments.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture throughout the organization and HR by applying lean tools and the Crane Business System. Partner with business leaders to develop workforce plans that align to business strategy and operating plans – striving to meet KPIs around recruitment and turnover. Lead strategies and actions to drive improvements when not meeting HR KPIs – getting to root cause and driving corrective actions to improve and sustain results.
  • Trait assessment tool expert in region – supporting assessment and interpretation in recruitment/coaching/team building/development plans.
  • Drive ongoing cadence of benchmarking salary/benefits to ensure we remain competitive in region.
  • Own and continually evaluate the on-boarding process for new associates – partnering with managers to ensure that all new associates experience a world class on-boarding experience.
  • Evaluate human relations and work-related problems and partner with leaders to determine effective resolutions, such as additional training, communication improvements, or disciplinary action. Ensuring legal/cultural compliance, deep understanding of local employment laws in order to attend legal meetings in Jafza, represent the company with proficiency and ownership.
  • Drive the performance review process for consistency, fairness, timeliness and effective utilization of the tool by coaching and developing leaders. Ensure fair and equitable merit increase administration.
  • Assist in the creation of company policy and drive policy administration ownership to managers.
  • Oversee the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization. Improving established processes (handbook/onboarding/employee engagement.)
  • Conduct orientation of new employees to ensure compliance with human resources, safety, and quality policies and standards.
  • Drive effective communication and ascertain problems that adversely affect employee morale and productivity – developing strategies to address when found.
  • Deploy Corporate/Business Unit initiatives within region – adapting/implementing as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field (Advanced training, education and/or PHR, SPHR certification highly desired).
  • Minimum 3 years human resources experience at a generalist level (including staffing, compensation and benefits, employee relations, etc.).
  • Professional level ability to be hands on and interact with all levels of management and employees.
  • Must have excellent influencing skills, interpersonal skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, results driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills verbally and in writing.
  • Must be fluent in Arabic and English
  • Be comfortable regularly shifting between tactical and strategic. Must be prepared to do the detail (payroll spreadsheets) whilst also being a partner to President and VPs in the region – challenging them positively on IC processes and making recommendations. Being able to stand ground when challenged and also present confidently to corporate team when they are in region.
