The HSE Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the facilities management sector. This role involves implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a culture of safety to protect employees, contractors, clients, and the public while maintaining operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
HSE Compliance and Policies: Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies and procedures in alignment with local regulations and company standards. Ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO, and other relevant safety and environmental standards.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and safety audits across facilities. Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.
Incident Management: Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and develop preventive measures. Maintain accurate records of incidents and prepare reports for management.
Training and Awareness: Deliver HSE training programs for employees, contractors, and stakeholders. Promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness through workshops, campaigns, and regular communication.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and oversee emergency response plans, including fire drills, evacuation plans, and first-aid protocols. Ensure all emergency equipment is functional and regularly inspected.
Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor environmental aspects, such as waste management and energy consumption, to ensure sustainable practices. Prepare and submit regular HSE performance reports to management.
Collaboration: Work closely with the operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to integrate HSE practices into daily activities. Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Certifications: NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent HSE certifications.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of HSE experience in facilities management or a similar industry.
