Job description

HSE Policy Implementation:

Monitor and ensure the implementation and maintenance of the company’s HSE policies and procedures to effectively meet HSE objectives and targets, ensuring compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS).

Site Coordination:

Coordinate with the Project Lead/Engineer and HSE Manager to address site requirements related to HSE aspects.

Site Inspection:

Inspect the site during the establishment phase and determine all safety equipment needed before the commencement of works.

HSE Planning:

Prepare and implement site-specific HSE plans and task risk assessments by reviewing Method Statements shared by the Project Lead/Engineer as per the agreed project schedule.

Conduct safety induction training for all new joiners.

Deliver regular toolbox talks on periodic HSE topics and maintain training records.

Train site staff and subcontractors in safety guidelines and first aid.

Site Monitoring:

Regularly inspect the site for adherence to safety standards specified by government authorities, the company HSE Manual, and project-specific safety plans.

Maintain and update emergency equipment such as HSE signage, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and spill kits on specific projects.

Compliance and Documentation:

Maintain HSE records, including safety induction documents, third-party inspection certificates, and competency certificates, ensuring they are updated for audits.

Ensure the permit system is in place and equipment/power tools are inspected, tagged, and in good condition prior to use.

Meetings & Reporting:

Conduct periodic HSE site meetings with the site management team and subcontractors’ project leads/supervisors, maintaining records.

Issue weekly HSE reports to the HSE Manager and Project Lead.

PPE Management:

Inspect and ensure that all workmen are equipped with the necessary safety PPE specific to each task as outlined in the Risk Assessment and PPE Matrix.

Participate in incident investigations, prepare accident reports, identify causes, propose corrective actions, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.

Identify unsafe practices on-site, prepare nonconformity reports, and follow up for corrective actions.

Engagement and Communication:

Attend site inspections and meetings with clients, consultants, and authority inspectors as needed.

Act as the point of contact for all HSE-related inquiries and emergencies on allocated sites/projects.

Report all injuries/accidents as per company SOPs.

Maintain accurate administrative records of emergency drills and site inspections.

Contractor Oversight:

Ensure all contractors work safely in accordance with the site safety plan and oversee their compliance.

Site Cleanliness and Material Stacking:

Ensure the site is maintained clean and organized at all times.

Oversee proper stacking and storage of materials to prevent hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Mandatory certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of local safety regulations and standards.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, with a leading contracting company in villas/buildings.
