Health & Safety Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Officer to join Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island.

Job Responsibility

  1. Keeps the Quality Manager informed of all Health & Safety related matters.
  2. Liaises with Management personnel and all employees to assist with health and safety.
  3. Liaises with local law enforcement and Fire & Safety officials.
  4. Maintains proper grooming at all times.
  5. Attends training classes as per schedule.
  6. Shows fullest cooperation and respect within the team and other departments.
  7. Is aware of daily activities and has product knowledge of all hotel facilities.
  8. Carries out inspections of workplaces and takes appropriate action to ensure compliance.
  9. Responds to and investigates concerns and complaints from workers/employers and takes appropriate action.
  10. Investigates accidents and injuries that occur in the workplace.
  11. Responsible for the establishment of, and monitors the performance of, workplace safety and health committees.
  12. May participate in the delivery of related educational programs and disseminates information to the public.
  13. Ensures all staff are thoroughly familiar with the Resort’s emergency procedures and are prepared for any emergencies that may occur.
  14. In case of high hazard areas identified, closes the facility area/work and reports to HOD, GM, and Security.
  15. Reviews Duty Manager/Night Manager book daily and takes corrective action when necessary.
  16. Familiarizes with all related company documentation, especially the relevant Operational Standards Manual for his/her field of responsibility.
  17. Keeps updating the emergency manual with appropriate procedures and forms in consultation with the Quality Manager.
  18. Trains existing employees and newcomers on a regular basis with live fire drills.
  19. Conducts and executes skills/technical training within his/her area of responsibility on a regular basis.

Qualifications

Requirements:

University Degree in a related field. Minimum of 2 years in a similar role within a five-star hotel, preferably in the UAE. Team management skills, computer skills, and excellent communication skills are essential. NEBOSH IGC certification is required. Qualification in Abu Dhabi Health & Safety practitioners course (ADVETI) is preferred. ISO 45001:2018 internal auditor qualification is required. Ability to hold IOSH TECH membership is a plus. Must have up-to-date first aid training (08 hrs including CPR).
