Plan and implement OHS policies and programs.
Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics.
Adhere to all rules and regulations.
Prepare and present reports on a weekly and monthly basis, including NCR and violations.
Oversee workplace repairs, installations, and any other work that could harm employee safety.
Provide initial safety induction training for contractors working on site regarding the procedures concerning health and safety. Ensure all contractors work safely in accordance with the site safety plan.
Ensure legal requirements affecting safety, health, and welfare are adhered to.
Ensure that all regulations are being observed, e.g., that statutory notices have been posted; that restrooms, washing facilities, and other welfare amenities have been provided and properly maintained.
Supervise the recording and analysis of information on injuries, ill health, damage, and production loss. Assess accident trends and review overall safety performance.
Assist with training for all levels of employees and suggest posters, slides, films, and filmstrips to promote awareness of injury prevention, hazards to health, and damage control.
Monitor heavy lifts for proper equipment usage and complete measuring inspection reports for lifting equipment.
Monitor all areas for safety violations and hazards, and maintain proper safety equipment at necessary locations, including health and sanitation in all designated areas.
