We are seeking an experienced HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Manager for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, implementing safety programs, and promoting a safe working environment. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and expertise in construction safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
HSE Policy and Compliance:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies in line with local and international regulations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and other industry safety standards.
- Conduct site inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
Safety Training and Awareness:
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for site workers and management teams.
- Promote safety awareness campaigns and ensure all employees understand HSE procedures.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and emergency response drills.
Incident Investigation and Reporting:
- Lead investigations of accidents, near-misses, and safety violations; identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed reports on incidents, non-compliance issues, and improvements.
- Ensure all incidents are properly documented and reported to management and authorities as required.
Site Inspections and Audits:
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards.
- Monitor high-risk activities such as working at heights, confined spaces, and heavy equipment operations.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and compliance with safety procedures.
Emergency Preparedness and Response:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for construction sites.
- Coordinate with emergency services and conduct evacuation drills.
- Ensure availability of first aid facilities, fire-fighting equipment, and emergency communication systems.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain HSE records, safety reports, and regulatory compliance documentation.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on HSE performance.
- Ensure all permits, licenses, and approvals related to safety are in place.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent HSE certifications are required.
Experience:
- 8+ years of experience as an HSE Manager in the construction industry.
