The HR Manager maintains and develops effective internal procedures, handles employee-related issues, supports recruitment and retention efforts, and ensures peak organisational performance. This role involves problem-solving, fostering job satisfaction, and maintaining a thorough understanding of HR policies and procedures, including employee orientation, benefits administration, payroll preparation, rewards, and conflict resolution.
Job Responsibilities
- Refine and execute employee standards and procedures, leveraging and enhancing existing HR systems and processes.
- Manage and enhance employee benefits programs, including compensation, health insurance, expenses, vacation, and other personnel packages.
- Lead recruitment efforts and prepare employees for assignments through orientation and training programs.
- Ensure compliance with legal HR requirements by monitoring regulations, conducting investigations, and maintaining records.
- Identify and recommend improvements to internal processes, including team restructuring and morale-building initiatives.
- Support departments in developing and implementing strategic HR plans aligned with business objectives.
- Plan, monitor, and evaluate HR activities, including management conferences, grievance resolution, employee counselling, and training managers on coaching and disciplinary practices.
- Oversee and improve the onboarding process, ensuring clarity and connection between roles and organizational goals.
- Maintain updated HR policies and procedures and ensure their implementation.
- Build strong relationships with external suppliers to foster trust and collaboration.
- Handle confidential matters with discretion.
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances, and other issues.
- Prepare and manage monthly payroll and ensure timely approval.
- Develop and implement annual training and development plans and staff career growth strategies.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on HR data integrity and audit processes.
- Develop and monitor KPIs and prepare regular reports.
- Provide reports and updates to senior management as required.
- Lead by example, upholding professional service standards and organizational values.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as an HR Manager.
- Familiarity with HR systems; experience with PeopleSoft is a plus.
- Thorough understanding of federal HR laws.
- Strategic thinking and tactical delivery skills, along with strong analytical decision-making abilities.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR policies and systems.
- Exceptional collaboration and communication skills.
- Proficiency in HR software, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (intermediate to advanced Excel skills required).
- Strong administrative, record-keeping, reporting, time management, and organizational skills.
