Job Description

Our program offers an opportunity to be part of Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk’s Housekeeping department in a position for a period of 12 to 18 months. This is a fantastic opportunity for an entry-level Housekeeping individual to learn and grow their careers in one of Dubai's most iconic hotel. Be a part of the Housekeeping team that is focused on driving successful business results.

This individual will be responsible for many functions in a fast-paced Housekeeping team. Additionally, they will support and learn all Housekeeping functions within the department. This will help them gain unparalleled experience to equip them for a bright future in human resources upon completion of their program.

What you will be doing:

1. Manage and supervise all tasks of his / her staff
2. Ensure cleanliness of guest rooms, guest room balconies, guest corridors, linen rooms and housekeeping pantries according to set standards and procedures
3. Supervise public areas
4. Ensure that guest supplies are replenished
5. Ensure guests’ requests are promptly and courteously met
6. Report damage or malfunction in hotel rooms using P.M.S system
7. Maintain equipment in proper state of cleanliness and repair
8. Maintain a section floor report
9. Conduct daily briefings with staff at floor level
10. Report unusual behavior / activities on floors to Assistant Housekeeping Manager
11. Record room status in allocated section accurately
12. Comply with hotel’s health, safety and hygiene policies
13. Attend meetings and training sessions as required
14. Fully understand the difference in guest levels (VIP) and in room categories

Qualifications

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

1. Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English
2. Must be well presented and professionally groomed at all times
3. Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
4. Must have good leadership skills and training skills
5. Full time commitment to a luxury setting

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Degree from School for Tourism & Hotel Management
