Responsible to: Group General Manager

Responsible for: All Hotel Operational functions including:

  1. Food and Beverage
  2. Banqueting/Events
  3. Front Office and Concierge
  4. Housekeeping
  5. Engineering
  6. SPA & Health Club

Main Scope of Job

To ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day hotel operation in accordance with all international hospitality standards and in line with company policies and procedures – achieving optimum financial returns for the company/owners, whilst ensuring highest levels of employee and guest satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Establish hotel marketing plan working closely with the Director of Sales, ensuring clear action plans to penetrate key market segments.
  2. Maintain close liaison with Market Analyst to monitor market trends, competitive data and business forecasts.
  3. Work closely with the Director of Finance to establish annual hotel operating plans, identifying and responding to margin and cost improvement opportunities.
  4. Lead the operational team of the hotel with the objective to maximize efficiency and to achieve the highest volume of revenues and EBITDA.
  5. Together with the department heads, take a leading role in positively representing the company with guests, reinforcing a customer focused approach to hotel operations at all times – and harnessing Guest Satisfaction Survey data as a tool to measure success.
  6. Attract, develop and retain an effective team of department heads and employees, whilst adhering to all company and legal standards.
  7. Monitor and overview consistent training and development plans for all employees to ensure positive guest experience, high employee morale and strategic continuity planning within the hotel and the company.
  8. Implement and adhere to standard policies, systems and procedures relating to hotel operations, including maintenance, environmental health and safety systems and quality standards.
  9. Provide clear leadership for quality and take necessary initiatives aligned with business goals and objectives, maintaining close liaison and support for the team.
  10. Monitor employee morale and turnover, proactively supporting the Employee Satisfaction Survey process and ensuring action plans are established and followed up to address issues.
  11. Ensure that building and plant are maintained to company and legal standards – prepare a plan including all necessary investments to guarantee short and long term standards with a special emphasis on guest experience and the hotel's positioning in the market environment.
  12. Ensure a cost effective, innovative and quality rooms / food and beverage operation in the hotel through effective product planning, marketing and product presentation.
  13. Monitor IT implementation standards and track software enhancements to ensure best use and application.
  14. Monitor purchasing activities and promote actions to achieve best value for money while maintaining corporate and divisional standards.
  15. Establish positive contacts within the internal organization to ensure best use of the company’s skills, services and professional knowledge.
  16. Institute a clear communication strategy within the hotel and supporting teams to ensure effective sharing and updating of information throughout the property, including a structured and active meetings and briefings process.
  17. Identify opportunities for resources and facilities to be shared between the sister properties and focus on implementing best practices.

Education:

  • Bachelor's (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Hotel Manager or Hotel Operations Manager: 4 years (Required)
