Job description

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming and positive first impression.
  • Ascertain party size, reservation status and seating preferences.
  • Efficiently seat guests according to wait times, table availability, and reservation schedule.
  • Manage the waiting list during peak times, providing accurate wait time estimates and keeping guests informed.
  • Answer guest inquiries regarding the menu, daily specials, and restaurant policies with a knowledgeable and friendly demeanour.
  • Assist departing guests and express appreciation for their visit.
  • Maintain an accurate and organized seating chart, ensuring smooth table coordination for wait staff.
  • Prepare waiting areas for guests, ensuring cleanliness and comfort.
  • Assist with answering phone calls and taking reservations.
  • Collaborate with wait staff and restaurant managers to ensure a seamless flow of service.
  • Uphold all company policies and procedures regarding guest service, safety, and sanitation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with guests and build rapport.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive attitude, a team player mentality, and a genuine desire to provide exceptional guest service.
  • Ability to learn quickly, follow instructions, and maintain a professional demeanour.
  • Basic knowledge of restaurant operations.
