Job description
  1. Embrace and encourage the ethos and standards of excellence as defined in the GEMS Core Values.
  2. Support the HOS / ELT / SLT with the implementation of all staff-related policies, and provide advice on staff needs and views through regular updates.
  3. Assist the ELT / SLT in drawing up the agenda for meetings, help implement and follow up on action points, and assist staff in liaising with other administrative staff (e.g., accountants & administrative officers).
  4. Make substitutions and arrange for supply teachers, establishing a seamless working relationship with teachers in the learning-teaching dynamics.
  5. Coordinate with the SLT towards achieving school improvement targets, and support continuous professional development (CPD).
  6. Arrange timetables and work allocation, and ensure optimum use of resources and facilities by staff (e.g., GLG, labs, multi-purpose/activity rooms & libraries).
  7. Manage long, medium, and short-term academic plans and monitor progress.
  8. Arrange regular open houses focused on developing closer parental ties.
  9. Interact on a need basis to address day-to-day problems and issues raised by the parental community.
  10. Conduct regular staff meetings with academic agendas to develop coordination among teachers and grades.
  11. Oversee the running of external examinations and inspections (e.g., CASE, ACER, PISA, PIRLS) and school-based academic evaluations.
  12. Ensure that GEMS policies, procedures, and codes of conduct are followed at all times.
