Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Assess and repair customer's vehicles, ensuring compliance with company’s standards while operating in a safe work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Receive the work and job card from the workshop supervisor.
• Perform each requirement on the job card and tick and sign the checklist before moving forward.
• Diagnose and rectify defects, fixing the vehicle within the time allowed.
• If any parts are required to purchase, inform the Supervisor.
• Identify additional work and non-conformances, rapidly communicating them to the supervisor and documenting them on the job card.
• Ensure the presentation of the vehicle, including resetting of equipment and accessories, and cleanliness.
• Apply the manufacturer's directives and safety rules.
• Tidy up and clean the work area and all tools used (individual or collective).
• Search for information in the available documentation (technical manuals, repair booklets).
• Maintain the stock of tools and keep them in proper condition.
• Perform all activities in compliance with the Company’s QHSEMS and as per the assigned specific responsibilities.
• Carry out any additional tasks assigned (in line with qualifications and ability) by the line Manager.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Qualifications & Education: Technical certificate or Diploma certificate in automobile.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience as a mechanic within heavy vehicles and equipment.
• Knowledge & Skills: Working knowledge of English (able to read and interpret technical manuals, repair booklets).
