HEAVY VEHICLE MECHANIC

Job Description

Accountable for the implementation of the repair and maintenance program in the garage to eliminate delivery downtime due to vehicle unavailability and to ensure that all the required resources are available and well kept and usable at all times.

Responsibilities:

• Full support to all safety and quality programs of the company.
• Ensure that the scheduled vehicle PM program A & B of the company is implemented on time.
• Ensure that all spare parts for installation/fixing to vehicles are properly managed to avoid any wastage.
• Help in cleaning the garage and sorting out useful materials from scrap items.
• Ensure that all assigned tools are well kept and used only for their intended purposes.
• Attend to road breakdown service of delivery vehicles including those of other operating points.
• Attend to electrical and hydraulic repair of vehicles as may be required.
• Demonstrate high standards of safety awareness and good housekeeping in the workplace.
• Assist in all major repairs of vehicles, such as engine overhauling, pulling down/repair of transmission, and other corrective repairs as may be required.
• Report problems encountered for new processes or changes and include suggestions to resolve them.
• Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.

Skills:

• Repairing, troubleshooting, maintenance, spare parts selection, and safekeeping.
• Basic knowledge in maintenance and repairs of light and heavy truck vehicles and equipment.
