Heavy Duty Driver (RTA License no 04 Heavy Truck)

Job Purpose:

The Truck Mounted Attenuator Driver (TMA Driver) will complete assigned traffic control tasks by driving a TMA to specified locations for lane closures on Abu Dhabi highways and other roadways. TMA Driver must be constantly aware of both the construction and traffic activity taking place around them.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow all safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety PPE.
• Drive Management of Traffic (MOT) vehicle to and from project and on work site.
• Place arrow board or variable message board in work area.
• Check work zone throughout shift to be sure items are still in their proper location.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
• Proper work attire.
• QHSE compliance.
• Take reasonable care of your own health and safety and not to put other persons - fellow employees and members of the public - at risk by what you do or don't do in the course of your work.
• Cooperate with any company efforts to improve health and safety at work.
• Comply with any reasonable instruction given to you in the interest of health and safety.
• Not to interfere with or misuse anything that's provided for your health, safety, or welfare.
• Report any accidents, injuries, or illnesses you may suffer as a result of doing your work, or any accidents, injuries, or illnesses you become aware of that involves a fellow employee or member of the public at your place of work.

Skills Required:

• Must have good communication skills.
• Overnight travel is required.
• A valid Driver’s License is required to operate company trucks (RTA license no 4 heavy truck).
• Ability to complete paperwork and knowledge of federal motor carrier safety regulations & traffic control is also required.
• Possess good knowledge of UAE and local roadways and have experience with operating large vehicles of varying sizes.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.
