Job Description

Amazon is looking for a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Officer to add to the team. With your Bias for Action, we need you to step in and help drive health and safety across our delivery stations in Abu Dhabi / Dubai.

In this crucial WHS position, you’ll report to the Country WHS Manager.

1. Lead site risk assessments for current and new activities.
2. Establish site WHS training matrix.
3. Lead implementation of site specific WHS standards and guidelines.
4. Lead implementation of site WHS objectives and programs.
5. Promote safe culture among employees by providing daily WHS content to shift briefing/standup meetings.
6. Perform frequent site safety audits to identify all non-compliance equipment and/or processes at the site.
7. Conduct daily and weekly WHS audits, such as GEMBA walks, area audits, vehicle and driver inspections etc.
8. Attend to incidents and occupational injury cases on site.
9. Guide and assist area managers on incident investigations, Gensuite write up, and communication of lessons learned.
10. Assist Ops team in Gensuite follow up sheet and CAPA creation.
11. Audit record-keeping practices and ensure Gensuite entries align with global WHS standards and local regulations.
12. Ensure the PPE inventory at site and coordinate with procurement for order placement.
13. Ensure basic fire fighting training and first aid training completion.
14. Complete daily Trailer Dock Release (TDR) inspections and communications.
15. Daily Action Tracking System monitoring, closeout, and support.
16. Participate in site management safety walk, providing insight into unsafe acts and conditions to management.
17. Provide daily updates to Country WHS Manager on objectives progress, incidents, AO's, ATS, network actions, etc.
18. Preparation of WHS committee meeting agenda, MOM write up, ATS creation.
19. Daily Permit to Work review and sign off, working with the operational and facilities team.
20. Lead on WHS related procurement and follow up on site.
21. Prepare risk assessments and emergency response plans.
22. Manage preparation and completion of emergency drills, medi-evac drills and preparing drill records.
23. Heat Index establishment, monitoring, and support.
24. Provide support to site specific requests, unplanned events, and activities.
25. On the Road experience.
26. Excellent with computers and data analysis.

2. Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
3. Experience working within a team.
4. Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analyses.
5. Experienced in emergency response and currently holds First aid and CPR certificates.
6. Analyzing and manipulating data.
7. Passion for safety.
8. Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or Engineering/Science bachelor degree.
