Duties & Responsibilities
The HSE Manager will work within the Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) unit of BeWunder, reporting to Head of QHSE and working closely with other unit leaders and support teams, and shall be responsible for managing, leading and further developing the Support Unit.
You will propose and decide together with the Head of QHSE to ensure compliance with necessary HSE regulations with the right compliance management system and promote a culture of continual improvements.
You will lead with a transparent (i.e. communication-intensive) and collaborative management style, that heavily relies on knowledge, expertise and problem-solving skills.
Primary Duties
- Devising, implementing and ensuring the environmental, health and safety management system is continually developed and kept up to date.
- Ensuring workplaces and working practices are safe and comply with legislation.
- Ensuring each team member, including new starters, has access to and understands the quality, environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
- Reviewing all quality, environmental, health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and best practice.
- Carrying out regular audits to check that policies, procedures and QHSE management systems are properly implemented.
- Recording and investigating incidents, accidents and producing useful reports to help guide improvements.
- Developing and leading online and in-house trainings with managers and team members about quality, environmental, health and safety issues and risks. Monitoring training records to ensure company ISO compliance.
- Providing advice and guidance on any relevant legislative changes. Liaising with external advisers as appropriate.
- Identifying areas of potential compliance vulnerability and risk and develop action plans to mitigate those risks.
- Working with the People & Culture and Crew Management units to develop safeguarding and other relevant training plans and monitor compliance.
- Promoting a culture of compliance amongst team members.
- Providing regular compliance reports for Management.
- Representing the company and liaising with external parties during client QHSE audits, regulatory compliance audits and/or ISO certification audits.

Your Profile
Required Qualifications And Experience
- Minimum of 7 years experience in HSE and quality management, preferably in construction or event-related industries in the UAE.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of ISO standards: 9001, 14001, and 45001.
- NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent certification.
- ISO Lead Auditor certification is advantageous.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with a solutions-oriented approach.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
