Job Title: Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Officer

Amazon is looking for a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Officer to add to the team. Year on year, as we continue to grow, we need to work as smart as we can to keep all our team members safe, fulfilled, motivated, and empowered. To help us achieve this, we're seeking a driven WHS Officer. With your bias for action, we'll need you to step in and help drive health and safety across our delivery stations in Abu Dhabi / Dubai.

In this crucial WHS position, you'll report to the Country WHS Manager.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead site risk assessments for current and new activities.
2. Establish site WHS training matrix.
3. Lead implementation of site-specific WHS standards and guidelines.
4. Lead implementation of site WHS objectives and programs.
5. Promote safe culture among employees by providing daily WHS content to shift briefing/standup meetings.
6. Perform frequent site safety audits to identify all noncompliance equipment and/or processes at the site. Work with the Operations team to implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury.
7. Conduct daily and weekly WHS audits such as GEMBA walks, area audits, and vehicle and driver inspections.
8. Attend to incidents and occupational injury cases on site.
9. Guide and assist area managers on incident investigations, Gensuite write-up, and communication of lessons learned.
10. Assist Ops team in Gensuite follow-up sheet and CAPA creation. Audit recordkeeping practices and ensure Gensuite entries align with global WHS standards and local regulations.
11. Ensure the PPE inventory at site and coordinate with procurement for order placement.
12. Ensure basic firefighting training and first aid training completion.
13. Complete daily Trailer Dock Release (TDR) inspections and communications.
14. Monitor daily Action Tracking System closeout and support.
15. Participate in site management safety walk and provide insight into unsafe acts and conditions to management.
16. Provide daily updates to Country WHS Manager on objectives progress, incidents, AOs, ATS network actions, etc.
17. Prepare WHS committee meeting agenda, MOM write-up, and ATS creation.
18. Review and sign off daily Permit to Work, working with the operational and facilities team.
19. Lead on WHS related procurement and follow up on site.
20. Prepare risk assessments and emergency response plans.
21. Manage preparation and completion of emergency drills, medievac drills, and prepare drill records.
22. Establish and monitor Heat Index support.
23. Provide support to site-specific requests, unplanned events, and activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or Engineering/Science.
• NEBOSH Diploma.
• Experience in WHS field.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Valid UAE driving license and own transport.
• Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy.
• Experience working within a team.
• Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, judgment, and customer focus skills.
• Passion for safety and self-development.
• Experience in emergency response and currently holds First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Excellent with computers and data analysis.
• Ability to analyze accident data and conduct job hazard and job safety analyses.
