Job Description

Position Overview:

The Head of Student Recruitment & Marketing plays a vital role in leading and implementing strategies to attract a diverse and qualified student population to the college or university. Reporting to the COO for GBS Dubai, the Head of Student Recruitment & Marketing oversees the recruitment team and collaborates with various departments to meet enrolment goals and promote the institution's offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment Strategy and Planning:

  1. Develop and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies to achieve enrolment targets while aligning with the institution's mission and values.
  2. Analyse market trends, demographic data, and competition to identify opportunities for reaching prospective students effectively.
  3. Manage local direct sales teams.
  4. Work collaboratively with the International direct team to achieve enrolment targets.
  5. Accountable for achieving enrolment targets.

Team Leadership and Management:

  1. Lead, mentor, and manage the recruitment team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  2. Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture that emphasizes student-centred approaches and data-informed decision-making.

Outreach and Relationship Building:

  1. Work with the outreach team to build and maintain relationships with high schools, community colleges, educational agencies, and other key partners to enhance recruitment efforts.
  2. Represent the institution at college fairs, conferences, and other events to engage with prospective students and their families.
  3. Create and manage all events, open days, campus tours.

Marketing and Communication:

  1. Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to develop compelling messaging and promotional materials that highlight the institution's strengths and offerings.
  2. Utilize digital platforms, social media, and traditional marketing channels to reach and engage prospective students.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  1. Collect, analyse, and interpret data related to recruitment trends, application rates, and conversion rates to inform strategic decisions.
  2. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior leadership detailing recruitment progress and outcomes.

Admissions Process Support:

  1. Work closely with the admissions team to ensure a smooth and efficient application process, providing guidance on admission requirements, deadlines, and procedures.

Diversity and Inclusion:

  1. Implement strategies to enhance diversity and inclusivity within the student body by reaching out to underrepresented populations and promoting a welcoming environment.

International Student Recruitment:

  1. Develop and manage international recruitment initiatives, collaborating with international partners and organizations to attract and support international students.
  2. Collaborate with enrolment management and financial aid teams to optimize financial aid packaging, scholarships, and other incentives to attract and retain students.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  2. Several years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, or related roles within higher education.
  3. Demonstratable experience in student recruitment from GCC region.
  4. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  5. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  6. Data-driven mindset, with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  7. Familiarity with enrolment management systems and CRM software.
  8. Knowledge of marketing and communication strategies, particularly in the context of student recruitment.
  9. Understanding of higher education trends, demographics, and the competitive landscape.
  10. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in recruitment efforts.
  11. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and engage with external stakeholders.
