Job Title: Head of Projects

Protea Recruitment is working with a leading food retail client in the UAE to find a Head of Projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced project leader to take full ownership of construction, fit-out, and MEP projects within the retail and food manufacturing sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee end-to-end project management, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
2. Lead and manage a team of Project Managers and support staff.
3. Develop and execute project strategies, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, tendering, and contractor negotiations.
4. Ensure effective communication with internal stakeholders, government authorities, and landlords to secure approvals and certifications.
5. Select and manage suppliers/vendors for food processing equipment, refrigeration, chillers, freezers, and shelving.
6. Align MEP requirements and space planning with operational needs in collaboration with design teams.
7. Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
8. Drive change management initiatives with senior leadership approval.
9. Manage client-side project delivery, with a focus on supermarket refrigeration and food processing infrastructure.

Qualifications & Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
2. PMP, Prince2, or equivalent project management certification desirable.
3. 5–8 years of hands-on experience in a similar leadership role.
4. Strong background in construction, retail fit-outs, and MEP projects.
5. Experience managing food processing and refrigeration infrastructure is essential.
6. Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
8. Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
9. Valid UAE driving licence.
