Our Bay Area-based Structural Engineering client is looking for a Payroll Assistant to join their Brisbane team. The role works directly with the Payroll Manager, assisting them with essential payroll duties such as entering union and non-union payroll, as well as maintaining and auditing payroll. This is an onsite, permanent-hire opportunity with amazing benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Process for up to 500 multi-state, union, and non-union payroll
Entry and auditing of timekeeping records
Compute wage and overtime payments
Prepare and post payroll allocations
Balance earnings and deduction totals
Maintain payroll records, such as New Hire entry, Direct Deposit, 401k uploads, salary or wage adjustments
Process terminations
Maintain Workers' Comp rates by class code
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws
Respond to payroll inquiries in a timely manner
Ad hoc projects as assigned
Other payroll-related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
0-2 years of experience in Real Estate, Construction, or Architecture industry preferred but not required
Experience in entering large datasets into an ERP system
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of union and non-union payroll
Knowledge of multi-state payroll and federal/state tax payments
