Job description

The Head of Legal is a pivotal role within the Corporate Management Office, responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of the organization. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in corporate law, compliance, and risk management. The Head of Legal will play a crucial role in safeguarding the company's interests while ensuring adherence to legal standards and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and the ability to navigate complex legal challenges in a dynamic business environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the legal department, providing guidance and support to team members.
  2. Develop and implement legal strategies that align with the company's business objectives.
  3. Oversee contract negotiations and ensure compliance with legal standards.
  4. Advise senior management on legal risks and implications of business decisions.
  5. Monitor changes in legislation and ensure the company’s policies and procedures are updated accordingly.
  6. Manage relationships with external legal counsel and other service providers.
  7. Conduct legal research and provide insights on relevant legal issues.
  8. Ensure the company’s compliance with local and international regulations.
  9. Develop training programs for staff on legal compliance and risk management.
  10. Represent the company in legal proceedings and negotiations.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Proven experience in a senior legal role, preferably within a corporate environment.
  2. Strong understanding of corporate governance and compliance issues.
  3. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  4. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Leadership experience with a focus on team development.
  7. Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
  8. High ethical standards and integrity.

  10. Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating legal risks.
