Job description

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our client’s Vendor Management Office (VMO) within their IT department. The Head of IT VMO will be responsible for negotiating and managing large-scale software, hardware, implementation, and consulting contracts. This role will have a particular focus on enterprise transformations driven by SAP, Oracle, and other leading technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Vendor Strategy and Management:
    Develop and execute a comprehensive vendor management strategy aligned with the organization’s IT and business objectives.
    Identify, evaluate, and select vendors to meet business needs, ensuring competitive pricing and service quality.
  2. Contract Negotiation and Administration:
    Lead negotiations for large-scale software, hardware, and consulting contracts.
    Manage contract lifecycle from initiation through renewal, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
    Ensure all contracts are aligned with legal, regulatory, and company policies.
  3. Stakeholder Collaboration:
    Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including IT, finance, legal, and business units, to understand requirements and ensure vendor services meet organizational needs.
    Act as the primary point of contact between vendors and the organization.
  4. Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for vendor performance.
    Conduct regular vendor performance reviews and develop improvement plans when necessary.
    Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on vendor performance, cost savings, and risk management.
  5. Enterprise Transformation Projects:
    Lead vendor management efforts for large enterprise transformation projects, particularly those involving SAP, Oracle, and other major systems.
    Ensure vendors deliver high-quality services and products that align with project timelines and budgets.
    Identify and mitigate risks associated with vendor relationships and contracts.
    Develop and implement contingency plans to address potential vendor issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or a related role within a large organization.
  • Proven experience in negotiating and managing large-scale software, hardware, and consulting contracts.
  • Extensive knowledge of SAP, Oracle, and other enterprise systems.
  • Strong understanding of IT and business processes within a retail environment.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Retail domain experience is preferred.
