Head of Inclusion required for August 2025

The English College, Dubai, seeks a positive, reflective and strategic Deputy Headteacher, Head of Inclusion, to be a key member of the Whole School Leadership Team for August 2025. This is an incredibly important Whole School position with the postholder reporting directly to the Principal. The successful candidate will be a visionary, strategic thinker who can inspire colleagues across the whole school to ensure inclusion is at the forefront of our school strategy. Considering the scope and impact of this role, they will need to be very well organised and not afraid to pitch in to help where necessary. They will have clearly articulated, high expectations of all staff and students with the support and guidance needed to make their vision a reality. We are seeking a leader who has a growth mindset, is open and willing to learn and shows honesty, integrity and vulnerability; they will be expected to engage in professional learning with the mindset that everyone can always improve. We are seeking a professional who is passionate about encouraging students to grow and develop holistically - academically, emotionally, physically and socially.

The successful candidate will be positive, enthusiastic, highly qualified and committed, with an excellent track record of impact. They will be a strategic and visionary leader, having the resilience to balance the unpredictable day-to-day demands of senior leadership while having an impactful change on their portfolio. The Head of Inclusion is responsible for the coordination, liaison and management of the student support provision across the school. This specifically relates to ensuring appropriate provision for students identified as needing SEN, EAL and MAT support. They will also coordinate support for our Emirati students, liaise with external support services and lead safeguarding across the school, potentially acting as the DSL. The successful candidate will lead and line manage several members of staff across the school, including leaders, teachers, and support staff. This role will suit someone who is ambitious, hardworking and a real team player.

Successful applicants will:

  • Be honest, transparent and have integrity.
  • Hold a QTS or PGCE teaching qualification, preferably from the UK.
  • Have a minimum of five years experience of teaching.
  • Be able to provide an ICPC and a UK enhanced DBS or equivalent police check.
  • Be professional in appearance and conduct.
  • Be willing to contribute to the wider curriculum and support the vision of the school.
