Head of Engineering

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Engineering to lead and scale our engineering efforts for our cutting-edge SaaS product in the RegTech industry. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage and grow an 80+ distributed engineering team members, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions. You will play a critical role in our organization, overseeing all aspects of development, architecture design, DevOps, SQA, project management, and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a distributed engineering team of 80+ members, ensuring alignment with company goals and product strategy.
• Oversee the end-to-end development process, from architecture design and implementation to delivery and post-launch support.
• Collaborate closely with the Product, CTO, and Development teams to align engineering efforts with business priorities.
• Drive DevOps and SQA practices to maintain high standards of code quality, system uptime, and continuous delivery.
• Manage the architecture of large-scale, secure systems that are scalable and optimized for rapid development cycles.
• Implement and uphold security best practices and compliance standards, ensuring the safety of data and system integrity.
• Travel to Pakistan frequently to engage with and coordinate the main development team located there.

• Time-to-Market: Optimize development cycles to deliver features and updates quickly without compromising quality.
• Code Quality: Ensure the codebase remains maintainable, scalable, and bug-free.
• System Uptime: Maintain high system availability and performance through robust engineering practices and proactive monitoring.
• Scalable Architecture: Develop and implement scalable architectural solutions to support our growing customer base and evolving product needs.
• Security: Maintain a strong focus on application and data security, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Process Development and Improvement: Establish, refine, and enforce engineering processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and quality across all engineering activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in managing large, distributed engineering teams in the software or SaaS industry, preferably in the RegTech or FinTech sectors.
• Hands-on experience with Laravel, Vue, Node.js, Python, and both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong expertise in designing and implementing large-scale, scalable, and secure architectures.
• Demonstrated ability to lead rapid development cycles while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Experience in DevOps practices, SQA, and security management.
• Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within scope.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and geographies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in the RegTech industry or with regulatory compliance solutions.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently to Pakistan for collaboration with the development team.
