Job Purpose: dnata is one of the world's largest air and travel services providers; offering ground handling, cargo, travel, and catering & retail services at over 130 airports in more than 30 countries across six continents. dnata Cargo offers premium cargo handling services for passenger belly cargo and freighter cargo. The Head of Cargo Operations at Dubai World Central will lead the Import and Export activities of Cargo Operations at Dubai World Central (DWC) ensuring dnata cargo's contractual obligations and service delivery objectives are achieved while conforming to the highest level of safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

In this role you will:

1. Review DWC Cargo mid and long-term business direction and provide recommendations for improvement to help drive towards the attainment of DWC dnata cargo objectives.
2. Plan and implement contingency strategies to ensure any changes or challenges in cargo operations or in the industry are factored and dnata's interest protected.
3. Review DWC day of operation reports to ensure operational KPIs are tracked and corrective action is taken when required.
4. Lead employee engagement programs at DWC ensuring new employees at dnata cargo are fully trained and developed and can effectively contribute to DWC Operations.
5. Lead the implementation of Cargo policies, procedures, and controls to ensure procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled.
6. Manage effective achievement of departmental objectives by setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, providing formal and informal feedback and appraisals in order to maximize performance (for both permanent and subcontracted employees).
7. Ensure dnata DWC people KPIs are effectively managed against set targets and a just culture is promoted across DWC.
8. Prepare and recommend Cargo budget to include manpower expenditure and monitor financial performance versus the budget.
9. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (Cargo, other airlines, integrators, airport agencies, and authorities) to ensure business continuity and achievement of dnata strategy.

Qualifications & Experience:

To be considered for the role you must meet the below requirements:

1. A Degree in a field relevant to logistics.
2. 10 to 12 years of experience in ground handling/cargo operations, the majority of which should have been in a leadership role.
3. Expert knowledge in Cargo operations and cargo handling procedures.
4. Advanced understanding of Cargo Regulatory requirements and Freight regulations.
5. Advanced knowledge of all Airline/Cargo Agent Communication and Control Systems used in the aviation industry.
6. Thorough knowledge of the international Quality Standard Total Quality Management (TQM) principles and Decision Support Systems.
