Job description


Communication – Deliver recommendations, produce operational risk reporting and insight based on results from the Risk and Control Assessment process used for Risk Owners, Control Owners and wider stakeholders or governance. Escalate top and emerging operational risks working with Risk Owners.

For this role, HSBC targets a fixed pay range between $174,300 and $305,000.

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

You’ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • An individual who has a deep understanding of global banking products. Subject matter expertise in Leveraged Acquisition Finance (LAF).
  • An individual with experience in banking products and services, with a strong understanding of client and business needs.
  • Strong communication skills and deep understanding of end-to-end risk management.
  • The ability to lead a team in operational risk management.
  • The ability to support and guide the Wholesale businesses and various product partners in its management of operational risk appetite, ensuring they operate in compliance, with operational risk framework and standards in a multi-geographic, matrix organization.
  • A strong capability in translating analysis results into strategic business recommendations.
  • A strong ability to develop, maintain constructive relationships with US Operational Risk teams and other ‘second line of defense’ teams, along with various Global partners, and others for operational risk and internal control matters across all levels and geographies of the bank.
  • Ability to pro-actively apply knowledge of the ORMF in line with the core activities.
