Title: Head of Business Development

Role Overview: We are seeking a Head of Business Development to lead our sales team in achieving company-wide revenue goals through strategy, coaching, and execution. Unlike traditional sales leadership roles, this position does not carry an individual sales target. Instead, the focus is on guiding the team to success by building processes, optimizing performance, and fostering a high-performance sales culture.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Leadership & Strategy

  1. Develop and implement a scalable and repeatable sales strategy to drive sustainable revenue growth.
  2. Translate company-wide revenue goals into team targets and actionable plans.
  3. Use data-driven decision-making to optimize sales performance, ensuring continuous improvement.
  4. Monitor key sales metrics (lead conversion rates, deal size, revenue per rep, etc.) and implement strategies to enhance results.
  5. Collaborate with marketing to ensure sales and marketing alignment for effective lead generation.
  6. Ensure the adoption of CRM tools and analytics for tracking performance and forecasting.

Team Leadership & Development
  1. Coach, mentor, and train the sales team to enhance their skills, productivity, and confidence.
  2. Foster a motivational and high-performance culture through incentives, recognition, and continuous support.
  3. Ensure every team member has the necessary resources, training, and development to succeed.
  4. Lead recruitment and retention efforts, ensuring a balanced team of experienced professionals and rising talent.
  5. Establish a culture of accountability and results while providing the team with guidance and support.

Client & Market Engagement
  1. Develop strategies to strengthen client relationships, ensuring long-term partnerships.
  2. Work closely with large accounts and complex negotiations to drive high-value deals.
  3. Implement strategies for client retention, upselling, and cross-selling.
  4. Provide market insights to influence company strategy and product development.
  5. Stay informed on industry trends and competitor movements to ensure Cultivate maintains a competitive edge.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
  1. Continuously review and refine sales processes to reduce friction and improve customer experience.
  2. Work cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and product teams to enhance customer satisfaction.
  3. Ensure all sales activities align with ethical standards and company values.
  4. Manage the sales budget, ensuring strategic investment in training, technology, and team incentives.
  5. Balance short-term revenue growth with long-term strategic vision for sustainable success.
