Job description

Allianz Group is one of the most trusted insurance and asset management companies in the world.

We are hiring for Head of Brokers to join our team in Dubai. The role reports to Head of Distribution GCC.

The role:

Achieve portfolio targets in terms of size and profitability through brokers via both acquisition of new customers and support (when needed) existing customer relationships defining the proper channel strategy based on targets (products, clients, pricing).

Main Tasks:

  1. Reach targets of portfolio growth and quality
    • Select, coach and develop the team.
    • Develop effective broker strategy in line with marketing plan.
    • Develop existing brokers and acquire new ones (if needed).
    • Follow up the whole cycle internally/externally from full collection of prospect/client data to issue of the policy.
    • Identify cross- and up-selling opportunities.
  2. Develop non-core countries in line with commercial and profitability goals and within travel and expenses allocated budget.
  3. Take personal responsibility for the implementation of group-wide quality of service standards:
    • Service existing brokers based on broker segmentation.
    • Support customer segments based on their segment and need.
    • Interact closely with other core functions.
    • Apply commercial underwriting standards to ensure profitability and quality of portfolio.
  4. Build and enhance relationships with both brokers and customers.
  5. Manage channels and brokers overlapping.
  6. Ensure long-term profitability and quality of customer portfolio.

Skills and Expertise Required:

  1. Market knowledge:
    • Expert know-how in specifics of market.
    • Ability to build extensive network with close contacts to brokers, market players and opinion leaders.
  2. Business expertise:
    • Ability to generate and convert leads in a profitable way.
    • Expert knowledge in sales and negotiation skills.
  3. Interpersonal skills:
    • Ability to liaise with members of other core functions and get things done.
    • Ability to convince customers in negotiations.
  4. Internal leadership behavior:
    • Select, coach and develop the team.
    • Build relationships with other core functions (i.e., Risk, Claims, Policy Administration).
  5. External leadership behavior:
    • Convert leads into sales through ability to convince customers and brokers.
    • Deliver on commitments.
    • Successfully deal with different cultures and nationalities.
