Job Description
Responsibilities
Perform duties as per NMC guiding principles and model of care, DHA regulation, and other regulatory authorities.
Provide care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner sensitive to the adult or elderly patient’s and family’s diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity, and rights.
Provide culturally appropriate patient-focused nursing care.
Apply and ensure international patient safety goals throughout the patient journey and care process.
Respect patient family rights throughout patient care with empathy and emotional stability.
Standards of Care
Ensure the highest standard of evidence-based nursing care is delivered to all patients and their families.
Act as patient advocate, ensuring privacy, dignity, and confidentiality are met.
Monitor and ensure patient satisfaction and proactively manage any identified issues.
Act as a resource of specialist clinical knowledge and information for ICU staff, ensuring nursing practices meet required standards.
Promote reflective practice and learning to ensure nursing care is research-based, appropriate, and responsive to patient needs.
Document all provision of nursing care timely and accurately reflecting the patient experience.
Work closely with consultants for effective patient management, ensuring individual consultant care protocols are followed.
Ensure a high standard of infection control and prevention of avoidable healthcare-associated infections.
Maintain the safe custody of all medications, including narcotic, controlled, and high alert drugs, ensuring all related policies and procedures are strictly followed.
Regularly review and update all policies, procedures, guidelines, and work instructions related to the department.
Participate in setting standards and agreeing on clinical audit topics with the Director of Nursing Services, ensuring identified audits take place with actions implemented.
Organize necessary admissions, transfers in, and out of the facilities in consultation with medical staff.
Discuss and promote innovations that improve patient care with the administrator.
Professional
Complete and maintain the competency portfolio within allocated time frames and ensure fulfillment of all clinical training requirements according to local requirements and the department training calendar.
Successfully complete the Immediate Life Support course annually.
Maintain personal continuing professional development (CPD) to comply with DHA requirements.
Attend all mandatory training within required time frames.
Maintain current awareness regarding developments in nursing and critical care service.
Attend hospital meetings and functions as required.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications
Masters in Nursing / Bachelor of Science in Nursing / Diploma in Nursing.
Current license from home country and DHA license to practice in Dubai.
Minimum 2 years of experience in the relevant area.
