What We’re Looking For

  1. A Culinary Degree or equivalent experience in a similar role is preferred.
  2. A proven track record of 3-5 years as a Head Chef in a high-volume Luxury Hotel environment, delivering Sensational Experiences synonymous with FIVE's Award-Winning Service Quality.
  3. Extensive Knowledge of Greek Cuisine.
  4. Impeccable Communication Skills, both verbal and written, with fluency in English (Additional languages such as Arabic, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Russian or Mandarin are a Plus).
  5. Previous experience in Forbes or Leading Quality Assurance (LQA)-Rated properties will be Advantageous, demonstrating a Strong Commitment to Luxury Service Standards and Processes.
  6. Next-Level Organisational and Leadership skills, effectively leading and inspiring the FIVE Tribe to New Heights.
  7. Exceptional Time Management and Multi-Tasking skills to oversee a busy kitchen and deliver a ‘FIVE-Star’ Experience for our guests.
  8. Extraordinary Creativity and Deep-Seated Passion for the culinary arts, brought to life through Ingenious Dishes and Outstanding Presentation.
  9. Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) principles and practices, and a thorough understanding of Health and Safety Regulations, Food Hygiene Standards, and Best Practices in Restaurant Operations.
  10. A Meticulous Eye for Detail, ensuring every aspect of Food Quality and Presentation is perfectly curated.
  11. Superior Problem-Solving Skills and the competence to Exceed Expectations in dynamic and competitive operational environments.
  12. Excellent interpersonal skills to engage effectively with Guests, FIVE Tribe Members, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Assists the Executive Chef in Supervising the day-to-day Culinary Operations at FIVE’s world-class Venues and ensures ‘FIVE-Star’ food Quality, Presentation, and Consistency.
  2. Conducts Meetings with the Culinary Teams to discuss the Chef’s Directives, fostering a sensational behind-the-scenes ‘Vibe at FIVE’ and Resolving Operational Matters.
  3. Establishes bespoke Culinary Standards for specialty kitchens and banqueting, ensuring exquisite Menus that Push the Boundaries.
  4. Plans and Curates Menus, crafting hand-crafted Recipes for food tasting sessions approved by the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef.
  5. Inspects Food Stores and Refrigerated areas meticulously four times daily, recommending storage methods to meet Health and Safety Regulations.
  6. Monitors spoilage to ensure an effective turnover of food items, promptly Reporting any Updates to the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef.
  7. Supervises the Daily Food Preparation to maintain top-notch Food Quality, appropriate Quantities, and remarkable Inventory Control.
  8. Manages the Hot Plate during service periods, embodying a ‘FIVE-Styled’ Approach to Food Presentation and Quality aligned with FIVE’s Industry-Leading Standards.
  9. Conducts Comprehensive Training on kitchen equipment, empowering Fellow ‘FIVERs’ to perform at the highest level, ensuring their professional Growth and Well-being.
  10. Develops Internal Processes to guarantee Consistent Culinary Excellence, providing cutting-edge tools for Seamless Implementation within the kitchen.
  11. Stays abreast of market trends, Pioneering Insta-Worthy Dining Experiences, staying ahead of the industry with disruptive techniques and visionary culinary expertise.
  12. Collaborates with the Purchasing Department to ensure a lavishly curated Selection of Top-Quality Ingredients.
  13. Fosters a Positive and Inclusive work environment, addresses any Staff Concerns or Performance Matters effectively, and maintains the Integrity of our FIVE Tribe.
  14. Ensures exquisite Personal Hygiene practices among Fellow ‘FIVERs.’
  15. Oversees the Daily Logbook, swiftly addressing and reporting Complaints, ensuring Completion of Operational Directives.
  16. Maintains Meticulous Documentation, cultivating an award-winning Culture of Control through comprehensive Records and Checklists.
  17. Ensures Strict Adherence to Dubai municipality and HACCP Regulations, showcasing industry-leading Compliance and readiness for Hygiene Audits at any moment.
