About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for a Head Chef to join our team at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab. The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

  1. Ensure all equipment is working to the standard required by the business and report any issues to the company maintenance team.
  2. Arrange and follow up on any LPO requirements to ensure repairs and purchases are made when needed.
  3. Build and maintain working relationships with central purchasing, sourcing all seasonal ingredients from the best possible suppliers within budget.
  4. Ensure all menus are seasonal and creative, using the finest ingredients and working within the concept. Arrange and attend all menu tastings.
  5. Ensure all cleaning schedules are followed and completed to the required business standard, addressing any areas not up to standard immediately.
  6. Be actively involved in ways to maintain and increase business levels, collaborating with the marketing team for any promotions.
  7. Carry out recipe writing and food photography for any publications.
  8. Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly administration meets company standards and deadlines, including arranging external and internal events.
  9. Arrange all team building events or outings.
  10. Ensure proper rotation of stock and adherence to storage procedures, maintaining appropriate stock levels.
  11. Monitor and account for food wastage within the active inventory system.
  12. Maintain full control over inventory and purchasing, ensuring all information is posted on the system before the cut-off deadline.
  13. Stay informed about direct competition and local and international food trends.
  14. Respond to changes in the Food and Beverage function as dictated by the industry or company.
  15. Improve production methods, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
  16. Perform any other duties as reasonably requested by management.

About You:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  1. Strong background in culinary arts, with experience in various cuisines and cooking techniques.
  2. Experience in high-end restaurants or luxury hotels, preferably with knowledge of Middle Eastern cuisine.
  3. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills to effectively coordinate with other departments and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.
  4. Passion for excellence and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences, with attention to detail and dedication to quality.
