The Hardware Engineer will primarily work as part of the product development team, providing the electronics design/redesign required for the products. This person shall have experience in designing PCB layout systems that are required to maintain product requirements.
What You’ll Do
Design and develop electronics, including circuit design, component selection, PCB design, signal integrity, and power management for new products.
Continuous improvement of electronics design in existing products.
Capture, specify, and manage design requirements.
Undertake and/or supervise verification and validation of new product designs.
Apply expertise to the design of electronics products, advancing the capabilities of the department.
Ensure that Design to Cost, Design for Manufacture, and Design for Test best practices are followed.
Maintain awareness of current industry trends and maintain relationships with suppliers to make best use of emerging technologies.
Experience in schematic capture and layout design of multi-layer complex PCBs.
Handle projects individually from schematics to Gerber and complete within timeline.
Support other functional teams for layout design.
Able to interface with the Mechanical Engineering team to understand physical constraints and design parameters.
In-depth experience in Micro Controller/Processor based electronics design is a primary requirement. Strong fundamentals in electronics based design are highly desirable.
Understanding of product specifications and customer requirements is required.
Develop new products and provide sustaining engineering support for new production development and sustaining activities of existing products as a subject matter expert.
Having design simulation experience is a plus.
Working knowledge of overall design engineering processes encompassing "Design - Development - Testing - Product Launch" is required.
Provide manufacturability perspective for early concepts and help validate through building appropriate designs. Assist with building prototypes that help in proof of concept and work with all different stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Engineering – Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation.
Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in core domain as PCB Layout designer.
Desired Candidate Profile
Must have experience in schematic design along with PCB Design using CAD Tools like CADSTAR, Altium, or similar tools.
Exposure to SPICE simulation analysis for circuitry.
Good collaboration and communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams.
Work with design engineers to understand the requirements.
Understanding of qualifying certification aspects of the product and apply the same in the design.
Bring in best practices from other parts of the company and from outside the company to avoid unnecessary learning cycles.
Schematic capture and PCB layout design experience.
Strong analytical and logical thinking.
