The team’s scope is wide and involves working cross-functionally with various teams such as operations, engineering, compliance, and many more.
As a Group Product Owner in Daily Banking, you will be at the center of the bank’s business and will own and simplify how our customers manage their financials – including current/savings, virtual, multi-currency, spend management, money transfers, card payments and more. The mission of the team is to simplify how our clients access and understand their money by making these experiences easy and frictionless.
Job Responsibilities:
- Set Product Vision and Strategy: Define and own the vision, strategy, and goals for Wio Bank’s Personal Daily Banking products, including CASA, Cards, and Payments, aligning them with business goals and customer needs. Ensure that every product decision contributes to creating a seamless, innovative banking experience.
- Product Discovery, Prioritization, and Roadmapping: Lead the product discovery process, gathering insights from customers, stakeholders, and market research to inform prioritization and roadmap decisions. Develop and execute a comprehensive roadmap for Personal Daily Banking, ensuring that consumer-facing features and underlying platforms are delivered efficiently and effectively.
- Collaboration Across Product Areas: Work closely with teams managing CASA (current and savings accounts), Cards (debit and credit), and Payments (local and international transfers) to build and implement a unified, integrated product roadmap that aligns with the overall strategy and business objectives.
- Cross-Product Integration: Collaborate with other product teams (e.g., SME, retail, investments, credit) to ensure seamless integration of everyday banking solutions with the broader suite of bank products. Ensure consistency and cohesion across platforms for a unified customer experience.
- Customer-Centric Design: Conduct ongoing customer research to identify pain points, preferences, and needs, ensuring that all products reflect a deep understanding of user requirements. Focus on creating easy-to-use, value-added features that enhance the everyday banking experience for our customers.
- Data-Driven Product Development: Make data-driven decisions by utilizing customer feedback, performance metrics, and market analysis to prioritize and refine features. Continuously monitor KPIs to measure the success of products and make adjustments as needed to meet customer expectations and business objectives.
- Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure all products adhere to the regulatory standards governing the banking industry, such as KYC, AML, and local banking regulations (e.g., CBUAE).
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of product managers, business analysts, and cross-functional partners. Foster a collaborative, innovative environment that drives the delivery of high-quality banking products and services.
- Market Trends & Innovation: Stay on top of trends in the banking and fintech sectors, ensuring Wio Bank remains at the cutting edge of personal banking innovation. Incorporate emerging technologies and customer demands into product development strategies.
What We’re Looking For:
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- At least 8 years of experience in product management, with 3+ years specifically focused on everyday banking or retail banking products (savings, payments, digital wallets, etc.).
Leadership Skills:
- Proven experience in leading and mentoring product teams and working cross-functionally in an agile, fast-paced environment.
Technical & Business Acumen:
- Solid understanding of banking technologies and digital banking trends (e.g., mobile banking, fintech innovations, digital wallets).
- Ability to translate customer needs into actionable product strategies and collaborate with engineering teams to bring those strategies to life.
Customer Focused:
- Deep empathy for customers and a passion for designing user-friendly banking products that improve customers' everyday financial lives.
Regulatory Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of banking regulations (e.g., AML, KYC, PSD2) and how they impact product design and implementation.
Analytical Skills:
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to use customer feedback, analytics, and market research to make informed decisions and iterate on products.
