Job Title: Group Class Instructor
Position Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Group Class Instructor to lead engaging and motivating group fitness classes. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to connect with a diverse range of individuals, foster an encouraging environment, and inspire participants to achieve their fitness goals. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in various fitness classes while ensuring a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for all participants.
General Responsibilities:
- Lead Group Fitness Classes: Conduct group fitness classes in a variety of formats (e.g., yoga, Pilates, strength training, HIIT, cycling, etc.) based on the class schedule.
- Ensure Participant Safety: Provide clear instructions and demonstrations of exercises. Monitor participants to ensure proper technique and form to prevent injury. Offer modifications for different fitness levels.
- Maintain a Positive Environment: Create an inclusive, energetic, and motivating environment where all participants feel comfortable and encouraged. Foster a sense of community within classes.
- Engage with Participants: Interact with participants before, during, and after classes to answer questions, provide encouragement, and build relationships.
- Monitor Class Progress: Track and record participant attendance and performance. Provide feedback and support to help participants meet their fitness goals.
- Prepare for Classes: Arrive on time, set up equipment, and ensure the space is prepared for each class. Plan and organize class structure and content ahead of time.
- Stay Current with Trends: Keep up-to-date with the latest fitness trends, exercises, and techniques to ensure classes remain innovative and engaging.
- Handle Administrative Tasks: Ensure proper documentation, including class rosters and attendance sheets, is completed in a timely manner. Report any maintenance or equipment needs.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with other instructors and staff to coordinate class schedules, promote programs, and maintain a collaborative work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specialized fitness certifications (e.g., cycling, Zumba, kickboxing, barre, etc.)
- Previous experience in customer service or community engagement roles.
- Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus.
