My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Senior Estimator. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of construction processes and delivery methods from the perspectives of both a General Contractor (GC) and Construction Manager (CM). This role requires an individual who can accurately assess and price all elements of a construction project, ensuring competitive bids while maintaining profitability and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Maintain ownership of multiple bids, estimates, and processes at the same time.
Develop and implement strategic estimating processes and procedures to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and consistency in bid preparation.
Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate project estimates.
Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other documentation to understand project scope and requirements.
Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs and material pricing for all aspects of construction projects, including but not limited to labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure compliance with project specifications and budgetary constraints.
Provide input and recommendations during the pre-construction phase to optimize project costs and schedules.
Participate in bid reviews and negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and material prices to inform accurate estimating practices.
Maintain accurate records of project estimates, bids, and cost data for future reference and analysis.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
Minimum of 7+ years of experience in construction estimating, with a proven track record of success in bidding and winning projects.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
Proficiency in construction estimating software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar tools.
Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and interact with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
Demonstrated leadership abilities with the capacity to motivate and mentor team members.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of the New York construction market and regulations.
