Part of the Engineering Department working on a variety of civil and geotechnical projects.
Responsibilities:
Understand the Company business plan and philosophy.
Develop and enhance technical capabilities of the company.
Develop Geo-synthetic and Composite Systems by discovering and establishing new specifications and identifying potential applications/projects.
Compile a list of major geo-synthetics composite materials produced by major international manufacturers.
Evaluate/appraise main technical specifications of composite materials produced by major international manufacturers.
Produce relevant design calculations for the use of geosynthetic and composite materials.
Investigate subsurface conditions and materials; determine the relevant physical/mechanical and chemical properties of these materials; evaluate stability of natural slopes and man-made soil deposits; assess risks posed by site conditions; design earthworks and structure foundations; and monitor site conditions, earthwork, and foundation construction.
Determine and design the type of foundations, earthworks, and/or pavement subgrades required for the intended man-made structures to be built.
Define the required material properties and follow a site investigation of soil, rock, fault distribution, and bedrock properties to determine their engineering properties.
Create Engineering drawings/illustrations and other technical papers for project submittals.
Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Master’s in Geotechnical Engineering.
Previous experience in geosynthetics design and applications is a plus.
Hands-on experience with civil engineering design tools and software.
Demonstrably clear and concise verbal and written communication skills with employees, upper management, corporate, internal customers, suppliers, and peers.
Experience building a strong and positive team environment.
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
