An opportunity has arisen for a Geo-Environmental Consultant to join our business in the UAE.
The successful candidate’s duties and responsibilities will include:
Participating in a variety of geo-environmental projects.
Assisting with ground investigations and desk studies.
Soil logging to current set standards, including laboratory scheduling.
Writing factual and interpretative reports.
Geotechnical reporting requirements beneficial.
Travel to other offices and sites within the region (as needed).
Timely data management, processing and reporting.
Oversee monitoring equipment hiring/off-hiring, maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
Adhere to all RSK company policies and client policies and procedures when on site.
Person specification:
Hold a 2:1 or 1st class honours degree in geology, hydrogeology, geography, geosciences, environmental or environmental earth science. MSc desirable but not essential.
Ideally working towards chartered status with a relevant institution.
At least 2-5 years specific relevant experience.
An understanding of geology, ground investigation works, contaminated land, geotechnical investigation.
Able to complete factual and interpretative assessments.
Able to deliver projects and work within a multi-disciplinary consultancy.
Track record in managing time and resources effectively and within budget.
Clear communicator and a team player.
Happy to be challenged by demanding site work.
Ability to follow instructions, work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and work solo, using own initiative.
Commitment to safety and improving ways of working.
Self-motivated, solutions focused, organised with effective time management.
Familiar with (leading to competent) use of data management tools and reporting software.
