Job Title : General Manager / Operations Director

  • Please note that we can only consider those who are based inside of the UAE already.

I'm currently supporting an amazing hospitality group in Dubai with their search for a General Manager / Operations Director.

Based in the heart of Dubai, the group has launched an exciting entertainment-led venue, and they are now actively looking for an experienced General Manager / Operations Director to join and head up this project. The venue has a capacity of circa 250-300, which also includes an outdoor terrace, and they run multiple daily and weekly promotions, such as happy hours and brunches.

We're looking for someone who has previous experience managing similar venues in Middle Eastern territories. It is essential that this person is both commercially and operationally strong, with skills in sales forecasts, projects, P&Ls, and budgets. This person must also have a strong grasp of marketing, as we're looking for someone with prior experience implementing promotions and campaigns.

You'll be leading a team of circa 40 and reporting to the wider group owner.

Ideally, we're looking for someone with a strong background in the Dubai F&B / Nightlife scene who is already based in the country.

Responsibilities :

  • Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations.
  • Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints.
  • Regularly review product quality and research new vendors.
  • Organize and supervise shifts.
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity.
  • Estimate future needs for goods, kitchen utensils, and cleaning products.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.
  • Manage the restaurant’s good image and suggest ways to improve it.
  • Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste.
  • Create detailed reports on weekly, monthly, and annual revenues and expenses.
  • Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events.
  • Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g., discounts and social media ads).
  • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices.
  • Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations.

Requirements :

  • Proven work experience as a General Manager / Operations Director.
  • Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge, with the ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff.
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software, like OpenTable and PeachWorks.
  • Strong leadership, motivational, and people skills.
