Job Summary:

The General Manager (GM) will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the car dealership's operations. This role requires a strategic leader who can develop and implement business strategies, manage marketing efforts, establish and maintain relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and oversee the setup and ongoing management of the dealership showroom. The GM will ensure the dealership operates efficiently, meets sales targets, and delivers exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive business strategies to achieve dealership goals.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for growth and areas of improvement.
  • Set financial and operational goals and monitor performance against targets.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Marketing and Sales Management:
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of marketing campaigns to drive sales and enhance brand visibility.
  • Develop strategies to increase customer engagement and loyalty.
  • Monitor market trends and adjust marketing strategies to remain competitive.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop sales targets and ensure they are met.
  • OEM Relationship Management:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with OEMs to ensure optimal product offerings.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with OEMs to benefit the dealership.
  • Stay updated on OEM product lines, promotions, and market changes to inform dealership strategies.
  • Showroom Setup and Management:
  • Lead the design, setup, and organization of the dealership showroom to create an inviting customer experience.
  • Ensure the showroom meets brand standards and provides a premium environment for customers.
  • Oversee inventory management, including vehicle ordering, stocking, and rotation.
  • Implement systems for efficient customer flow, from initial contact to sales closing.
  • Operations and Team Leadership:
  • Manage daily operations, including sales, service, finance, and customer service departments.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the dealership team to ensure high performance and morale.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements related to automotive sales and service.
  • Foster a culture of customer-centric service and continuous improvement.
  • Customer Service Excellence:
  • Establish and maintain high standards of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Handle escalated customer concerns and complaints, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance the customer experience.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Automotive Management, or a related field. MBA is preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the automotive industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, marketing, and showroom management.
  • Experience working with OEMs and understanding the automotive supply chain.
  • Skills:
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Analytical thinking with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficient in financial management and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of dealership management systems (DMS) and CRM software.
