Job Description:
The General Manager -Sales and Business Development is a dynamic leadership role, the incumbent will be the driving force behind the company's commercial efforts, developing a strong brand presence and leading business growth and profitability in the assigned country.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop a comprehensive business development strategy through market analysis, strategic entry planning and business model formulation.
· Establish and enhance the company’s local footprint, including setting up an office, key staff hiring, and a high-performing local team formation.
· Plan and organize resources, Implement action plans to drive volumes & profitability in line with the strategies.
· Navigate legal and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with local laws, international standards and best practices
· Build and maintain relationships with local government entities, business partners, and other relevant stakeholders to enhance business opportunities.
· Oversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and meeting profitability objectives.
· Act as the company’s primary representative in the country, serving as the key spokesperson and brand ambassador to elevate our corporate identity.
· Foster a company culture that reflects our core values and motivates the team towards performance excellence.
· Provide regular reports to the board of directors providing insights on operational progress, encountered challenges, and potential strategic initiatives for growth.
Qualifications:
· Proven experience from a similar industry of 7 to 10 years with at least 5 years of leadership role in business development with a track record of successful market entry and capitalizing on business opportunities.
· Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and profitability optimization.
· Strong understanding of business functions such as Finance, Marketing, Operations, and HR.
· Exceptional communication and leadership skills to inspire and mobilize diverse teams.
· Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment, willingness to travel and adapt to new environments.
· Local and International business laws and compliance
· Fluent in the English language - spoken and written
