General Manager

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for the mining division, ensuring alignment with the company's overall objectives and long-term goals.
2. Business Development: Identify and explore new business opportunities, including exploration projects, joint ventures, and international market expansion.
3. Operational Oversight: Oversee all aspects of the division’s operations, including exploration, extraction, and processing of copper and gold, ensuring efficiency and adherence to best practices.
4. Budget and Financial Management: Develop and manage the division’s budget, financial forecasts, and investment plans. Monitor financial performance, implement cost-control measures, and ensure profitability.
5. Performance Management: Set clear objectives and performance metrics for the division. Monitor progress, ensure targets are met or exceeded, and make adjustments as necessary.
6. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, including environmental, health, and safety standards. Maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies and manage permits and licenses.
7. Sustainability and Environmental Management: Promote and implement sustainability initiatives and best practices in environmental management to minimize the division’s impact.
8. Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, government officials, local communities, and industry partners. Represent the division at industry events and public forums.
9. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the senior management team and broader workforce within the division. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance.
10. Talent Management: Oversee talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies to ensure the division attracts and retains top talent.
11. Risk Management: Identify and assess risks related to operations, market conditions, and regulatory changes. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to protect the division’s assets and reputation.
12. Crisis Management: Ensure business continuity and effective management of crisis situations.

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you need to meet the following criteria:

1. Proven experience in a senior management role within the mining industry, with a focus on copper and gold.
2. Strong understanding of global mining operations, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
3. Demonstrated success in strategic planning, financial management, and operational leadership.
4. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
6. Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Business Administration, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
