General Accountant (Real Estate Experience ONLY)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented General Accountant with at least 3 years of experience in the real estate industry to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting overall financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy in all financial records
2. Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
3. Handle accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments
4. Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate financial reporting
5. Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
6. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax filings
7. Monitor property revenues, expenses, and financial performance
8. Support audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries
9. Work closely with property managers, leasing agents, and other departments to ensure financial accuracy
10. Stay updated on real estate accounting regulations and industry best practices

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2. Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting within the real estate sector
3. Proficiency in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Tally, Microsoft or similar)
4. Strong knowledge of real estate accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation
5. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
6. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
7. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
