As a furniture designer, you will be responsible for creating and developing innovative designs for furniture products, considering aesthetics, functionality, materials, client budget, and user comfort.
Responsibilities:
Design Development: Create original designs for various types of furniture, including seating, tables, storage, and decorative items.
Research Trends: Stay updated on market trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques to incorporate into designs.
Prototyping: Develop prototypes and models to visualize concepts and test functionality.
Collaboration: Work closely with the manufacturing team and other stakeholders during the production process.
Technical Drawings: Prepare detailed technical drawings and specifications using CAD, 3D Max, and SketchUp software for manufacturers.
Client Interaction: Meet with clients to understand their needs and preferences and incorporate feedback into designs.
Material Selection: Choose appropriate materials and finishes considering durability, cost, and environmental factors.
Quality Assurance: Ensure final products meet quality standards and specifications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in furniture design, product design, or a related area is preferred.
Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp), strong sketching abilities, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
A strong portfolio demonstrating previous design projects and creative work.
