Summary of the role: The Fund Investment Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing investment portfolios on behalf of clients and investors. Responsibilities involve making strategic investment decisions and ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Conduct in-depth research and analysis on various investment opportunities to identify potential investment options that align with clients' goals and risk profiles and Waystone’s internal risk tolerances. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their investment preferences, risk tolerance, and financial goals to provide personalized investment advice and recommendations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintain and exemplify a joined-up oversight program overseeing the activities of all Investment Management delegates.
- Communicate with investment managers to ensure satisfactory compliance with the investment objective and policies of the Funds/Sub Funds.
- Support the business to identify, assess, manage and measure Investment Management risks in accordance with the relevant regulatory policies.
- Liaise closely with the various internal teams, covering Operations, Compliance, Relationship, Operational Risk, and Fund Risk to evaluate the Investment Management risks of each delegate.
- Assist in the onboarding of clients including assessment on the eligibility of assets, interpretation of regulations, the finalization of the investment risk portions of funds Prospectus and Supplement docs; risk assessment of the fund; preparation of all holdings data in software system; and preparation of risk and compliance limits for monitoring.
- Oversee the production and delivery of investment risk reporting including breach escalation, communication with the external and internal stakeholders.
- Develop and implement investment strategies and portfolio management plans to meet the objectives of the funds under management.
- Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify investment opportunities and trends in various asset classes.
- Oversee the day-to-day management of investment portfolios and risk management.
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop and execute distribution strategies for fund offerings.
- Working closely with the Promotions Manager, build relationships with financial advisors, institutional investors, and other distribution partners to enhance fund visibility and sales.
- Ensure that all investment activities and fund operations comply with the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
- Prepare and review documentation required for regulatory reporting and audits.
- Develop and maintain performance metrics and benchmarks to evaluate the success of investment strategies and fund performance.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on fund performance, investment activities, and market trends to senior management and stakeholders.
- Liaise with clients, investment advisors, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and provide updates on fund performance and investment opportunities.
- Conduct presentations and meetings, in conjunction with clients, to communicate investment strategies, performance results, and market insights.
- Identify and assess investment risks and develop strategies to mitigate potential negative impacts on the fund's performance.
- Implement risk management frameworks and ensure adherence to risk tolerance levels and investment policies.
- Stay informed about market developments, economic conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact investment decisions and fund performance.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Risk Management Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification.
Experience:
- 4 years experience in financial analysis, fund distribution, investment management, or a related area.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial software.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
SCA Qualifications Requirements (CISI)
The qualifications below must be obtained to be approved by the SCA as the Fund Investment Manager. The governing body that oversees the professional qualifications is the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI).
