Forklift Operator

Job Summary:
To ensure efficient parts loading and unloading using a forklift while supporting warehouse operations.

• Receive goods from containers, trailers, and delivery vans by loading and unloading shipments using a forklift.
• Move shipments in and out of the warehouse safely and efficiently.
• Operate forklifts to transport parts within the warehouse for receiving and delivering shipments.
• Follow instructions from the Warehouse Supervisor and Storekeepers to organize and arrange goods properly in the warehouse.
• Maintain the forklift in good condition and notify the Supervisor of any required periodic servicing or accessories.
• Adhere strictly to safety regulations and precautionary measures while operating the forklift.
• Ensure a valid forklift driving license and maintain up-to-date documentation for forklift operations.
• Obtain certification by attending forklift operational training as required by regulatory authorities (DIC).
• Receive, store, and distribute parts to both retail and workshop counters.
• Read parts orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins based on predefined sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Transport materials and items from receiving areas to storage or other designated areas.
• Assemble and pack customer orders from stock, placing them in pallets or boxes.
• Mark materials with identifying information using stencils, crayons, or other marking devices.
• Open bales, crates, and other containers using tools as required.
• Record numbers of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weigh and count items for distribution to ensure conformance with company standards.
• Use computers to enter and update records as necessary.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Warehouse Supervisor or National Parts Manager.

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years in a similar warehouse or logistics role.
• Skills & Abilities: Valid forklift driving license, knowledge of warehouse operations, safety-conscious, and basic computer literacy.
