Roles and responsibilities

The primary responsibility is to support the offshore operations on the client locations as per EnerMech processes and procedures and demonstrate safety leadership and continuous development in all aspects of crane, lifting, and support service activities.

Main Responsibilities & Key Result Areas

• Forklift Operators shall be responsible for ensuring that the Forklift is functioning correctly and properly maintained each and every time the Forklift is operated.
• Forklift Operators shall be responsible for ensuring that the Forklift is operated within the design parameters in a safe manner.
• Trained to the specific model of forklift used.
• Familiar with the manufacturer's instructions for the forklift operation and for maintenance of the equipment.
• Able to measure Load Centre and to get accurate information on the exact load weight.
• Able to estimate the Load Centre of Gravity and its effect on load balance.
• Warn other personnel in the area of load movement.
• Ensure that all equipment controls are functioning correctly.
• Ensure that the load does not block the vision of forklift operation. If unavoidable, a Banksman should be provided during periods of load lifts and transfers, or reverse driving is recommended.

Requirements

• Forklift Operator shall be able to read and write English fluently, shall be experienced, fully trained, and wholly competent in forklift operating duties associated with offshore operations.
• Be at least 21 years of age or above and have a valid UAE Traffic department License.
• Be capable of reading and understanding the English language sufficient for the fulfillment of their function in a safe manner.
• Be physically fit with regard to eyesight, hearing, reflexes, and ability to operate the forklift.
• Be educated to a minimum qualification of Higher secondary school certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Be experienced in forklift operations for not less than 1 year in the oil & gas area.

Desired candidate profile

• Material Handling:

  • Operate forklifts to move, stack, and organize materials, goods, or products in a warehouse or production environment.
  • Load and unload shipments from trucks or containers, ensuring safe handling and placement of goods.

• Inventory Management:

  • Transport materials to and from designated storage areas, keeping inventory organized.
  • Assist with inventory counts and help maintain accurate inventory records.

• Forklift Operation:

  • Safely operate different types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, or pallet jacks) to move heavy items.
  • Ensure forklifts are in proper working condition and report any malfunctions or required maintenance.

• Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper forklift handling techniques and following safety signage and protocols.
  • Conduct pre-shift inspections of the forklift to ensure it's safe to use.
  • Ensure that materials are securely loaded and stored to prevent accidents or damage.

• Loading and Unloading:

  • Load and unload trucks, ensuring goods are stacked and arranged in a way that prevents damage.
  • Use forklifts to load goods onto pallets, racks, or shelves as needed.

• Communication:

  • Communicate with warehouse supervisors, managers, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and proper handling of materials.
  • Report any safety issues, inventory discrepancies, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.

• Maintenance and Care:

  • Perform basic maintenance tasks on the forklift, such as cleaning and checking fluid levels.
  • Ensure the forklift is properly charged (for electric models) or fueled (for gas-powered models).

• Organization and Housekeeping:

  • Keep work areas clean and free of clutter to maintain a safe and efficient environment.
  • Ensure materials are placed in their correct locations to support quick access and workflow.
