FOREMAN - WELDER(PIPING)

Day-to-day operations:
Follows the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work.
Having health and safety as the first priority on daily activities.
Responsible for arranging necessary safety work permits in the desired work area.
Check and identify all safety hazards as well as infringements within the area and raise near miss/hazard spotted forms as required.
Ensure monitoring of all activities carried out as per approved Dept. Work Instructions.
Ensure that proper housekeeping is maintained throughout the production process.
Responsible for conducting toolbox talks with team members regarding different quality and safety-related issues.
Proactively participate in identifying process errors onboard/in the workshop, highlighting and raising non-conformances through Occurrence Reports and Quality Observation notes.
Support Supervisors, Sr. Foremen, and Planners in preplanning, generation of programs, and follow-up of all jobs to optimize resource utilization.
Coordinate with Pipe Department sections as required for job execution.
Coordinate with Ship Repair Manager, Invoicer, and other trades as required for projects and resolution of interface issues.
Ensure compliance with best practices on welding quality and encourage and develop welding quality/productivity improvement initiatives.
Take initiative steps towards improvement of in-process work procedures.
Conduct daily toolbox talks with Dynamic Risk Assessment.
Coordinate with attending Superintendent, ship’s crew, Surveyor, and other external interfaces as required.
Prepare daily progress reports for jobs done under supervision in terms of inchdia.
Prepare turnover for next shift including onboard welding progress report.
Work as a team leader responsible for On-the-Job Training, grading, and performance appraisals of team members.
Control the man hours spent vs. allocated for the jobs.

Technical competencies:
Advanced weld visual technique
MPI, DPT
12th STD/
CSWIP 3.0/CSWIP 3.1 is an added advantage.
Minimum 5 years/Preferably at least 3 years in a major shipyard.
