Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Follow and comply with information Security Rules and data security measures in order to protect the company information / intellectual properties.
Read specifications, work list and pre-planning job (Sequence of job, manpower, equipment).
Develop & review project risk analysis.
Attend training for activities required by the department.
Ensure that welding supervision is fully in compliance with the ITP and WT requirements; welding consumable procedures and equipment in use are validated.
Ensure that all welding supervision complies with DDWD ISO 3834-2 manual annex 1 procedure.
Develop detailed completion program with manpower loading.
Review Dimension Control / Fit up inspections reports and guide the team for necessary proceedings to give the best fit for welding.
Coordinate work progress with Project Manager, Owners representatives, other trades, and within the department.
Develop/review manpower requests and target reports prepared by foreman.
Provide work done reports and descriptions to Invoicers / Estimators.
Liaise with department planning section for productivity measurements as applicable.
Maintain project file up-to-date as directed with all supporting documents.
Proactively participate in identifying errors and effectively report through NCIR system.
Train, motivate, appraise, and provide feedback on training requirements to uplift the skill of subordinates.

Good knowledge of English language. Knowledge of other languages will be an added advantage.
Very good knowledge in technical terms and report writing skills.
Knowledge of NDE / NDT techniques.
CSWIP 3.1 or AWS certificate as welding inspector will be considered as an added advantage.
Knowledge and understanding of special welding procedures.
Knowledge and understanding of stress relieving processes.
Basic knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Knowledge and experience in ship repair and new building yard.
Ability to read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures, specifications, drawings, and other discipline related project and engineering documentation.

2 years trade apprentice course.
Familiarity with welding works with at least 5 to 10 years of experience in a Foreman or Lead position.
