Foreman - Production

Foreman is responsible for ensuring that everything goes smoothly at plant and being the point of contact between the factory workers and supervisors. A few of the main duties of a foreman are coordinating tasks for the day, creating schedules for workers, overseeing quality of the site, and reporting the progress of the project to superiors.

Job Responsibilities

1. To supervise the workers on the shop floor.
2. To guide the welders/fabricators/helpers for the job requirement.
3. To prepare the daily attendance on the shop floor.
4. To check the quality of the workmanship of the welder; after satisfactory results, this job will be offered to the quality controller for inspection.
5. After Q.C approval, the job is sent to the next process.
6. To prepare the production report and control the man-hours on the shop floor.
7. To assist in issuing the necessary tools, PPE & consumables to the welder.
8. To conduct safety tool meetings every day after lunch break.
9. To motivate the employees for high production with good quality as per the customer's requirement.
10. After completing the job, confirmation in SAP.
11. To have knowledge of SAP (production planning module).
12. Raw material requisition through SAP.
13. Consumable requisition through SAP.
14. Production order confirmation through SAP.
15. Breakdown notification through SAP.
16. To check the welding procedures and standards.

Candidate Requirements

Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge: 4 Years

Minimum Entry Qualifications: Higher School / Diploma

Fluency: Hindi and English speaking

Technical & Non-Technical: Thorough knowledge of the standard tools, equipment, materials, methods, and practices of the trades commensurate to assigned duties. Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of welding and fitting. Considerable knowledge of the properties of ferrous and non-ferrous metals encountered in welding tasks.

Other: Ability to supervise the work of subordinate journeymen and helpers. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with personnel of other departments. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to work from sketches, diagrams, blueprints, and broken parts. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing. Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment used on work assignments.
